A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving following a ‘serious’ crash involving a bus and BMW - which resulted in a car fire.
The incident happened on Tannery Lane in Penketh at around 3.50pm today, Tuesday.
Police have closed a main route between Warrington and Widnes, A562 Widnes Road, while emergency services tend to those involved.
A large emergency service presence was at the scene - including firefighters who extinguished the blaze using a hose reel jet.
North West Ambulance Service also attended with casualties being taken care of by paramedics.
The extent of injuries is unknown at this time, a Cheshire Police spokesperson said.
Enquiries into the incident are ongoing.
