AN First World War statue has become the latest target in a stint of graffiti spotted around Walton and Latchford.
Warrington Police condemn the graffiti which has seen the word 'slim' be spray painted across many of the towns public and private properties.
Reports of an individual having tagged the war memorial on Chester Road, Walton were made on Saturday, 14, with the incident believed to have happened at 12:35am that morning.
When officers arrived at the scene, it was instead the Royal British Legion 'Tommy' silhouette statue which had been targeted by vandals.
Officers from Cheshire Police are appealing for anyone with information about the incident to come forward.
In a statement, Cheshire Police said: "We have received several reports of criminal damage from several members of the public, the damage has been caused by an Individual spray painting the word ‘slim’ on public and private property in the Latchford, and Walton area near to the Stag pub.
"Officers are making enquiries into the incident; the incident occurred on 14th Jan approx. 0035hrs.
