ANOTHER unauthorised traveller camp has been set up along a road in Warrington.

Six caravans and associated vehicles have pitched up on Silver Lane in Risley, parallel to the M62.

The group arrived yesterday, Thursday, according to an unauthorised encampment log for Cheshire and Warrington run by Cheshire West and Chester Council.

The same log states that an officer from Warrington Borough Council is to attend the council-owned land as soon as possible.

Warrington Guardian:

This latest camp comes after a group of travellers were ordered to leave a public pathway in Chapelford yesterday.

Six caravans and associated vehicles pitched up on land off Malvern Close on Tuesday evening. The road is regularly used by dog walkers and children going to and from school.

Cheshire Police has served notice on the group requiring them to leave the council-owned land by midday yesterday. They left the land around 5pm.

Meanwhile, Warrington Magistrates’ Court granted an order to remove caravans from the car park of Great Sankey Neighbourhood Hub on Wednesday.

Nine caravans and associated vehicles arrived at the council-owned site on New Year’s Day, but they have now since left.
