A GROUP of travellers have been ordered to leave the site of a camp set up on a public pathway in Chapelford.
Six caravans and associated vehicles pitched up on land off Malvern Close on Tuesday evening.
The road is regularly used by dog walkers and children going to and from school.
The status of the camp has been noted through an unauthorised encampment log for Cheshire and Warrington run by Cheshire West and Chester Council.
This states that Cheshire Police has served notice on the group requiring them to leave the council-owned land by midday today, Thursday.
The encampment comes after the courts ordered a group of travellers to leave the car park of Great Sankey Neighbourhood Hub yesterday.
Nine caravans and associated vehicles arrived at the council-owned site on New Year’s Day, but they have now since left.
