UPDATE: Cheshire Police has confirmed this morning, Thursday, that Barry Whitbread has been found safe and well.
The force wished to thank everyone who shared the appeal.
POLICE have issued an urgent appeal for help from members of the public to find a missing pensioner.
Barry Whitbread was last seen at around 3.50pm today, Wednesday, at Cineworld in Time Square in the town centre.
The 74-year-old resides in the Walton area of the town, has dementia and can become confused.
Barry is described as being white, 5’ 10’’ tall and has short, short grey hair.
He was last seen wearing black trousers, a navy-blue jumper and a green coat. He was also carrying a black man bag.
Officers are urging anyone who sees Barry or has any information regarding his whereabouts to come forward.
Inspector Michelle Boyd said: “Officers have been searching for Barry for several hours, so far to no avail, and we are becoming increasingly concerned for his welfare.
“I urge anyone who thinks that they may have seen Barry, or has any information in relation to his whereabouts, to get in touch with us.
“The same goes for anyone with video footage which may aid our investigation.”
Anyone with information or footage that may help officers find Barry is asked to call Cheshire Police immediately on 101, quoting IML 1444687.
