THE re-introduction of the “Wolf Pack” to Warrington Wolves’ membership offering has had an excellent response.
The club revived the concept in order to boost memberships among under 12s for the 2023 season and priced it at just £26.
As a result, sales of under 12s memberships have increased by 50 per cent – and there’s still more than two months to go under the opening Super League game against Leeds Rhinos on February 16.
Players, staff and coaches have donated more than 250 Wolf Pack memberships, with club partners and members of the public donating over 150.
“There has been a remarkable response from our community to the re-introduction of the Wolf Pack membership,” said Liam Brown, The Wire’s marketing manager.
“We all know that for our sport to grow, we have to engage children and young people and reverse the long term trend of having an ageing supporter base and dwindling numbers of junior members.”
To back up the ticket offer, a new community marketing department has been created within the club to coordinate the club’s activities in the community, with a specific remit to use the Community Foundation’s reach to create new fans of the club.
Claire Gamble, the club’s community marketing manager, said: “We’ve listened to fans that have said that they feel a little bit distant from the players and team, which has been exacerbated by Covid in recent years.
“Our aim now is to get our players out into the community as much as possible, and further engage the participants of the Foundation’s many projects.”
