ENGINEERS say they are still working to fix a leak which is causing water problems for homes in south Warrington.
Households in the WA4 postcode area, which also covers Latchford, Westy and Lower Walton, say they have no water or low water pressure.
United Utilities says it has managed to fix a leak, but work continues to solve another, with problems still being experienced by households.
The water company has apologised to customers and thanked them for their patience.
In an update this morning, Wednesday, a spokesman said: “We are sorry if you are still experiencing no water or poor pressure today.
“We have managed to repair an initial leak on Knutsford Road, however we have now located a secondary leak which is still causing some issues with supplies in the area.
“Please be assured our team are working as quickly as we can to get this resolved.
“We are really sorry for the inconvenience this is causing. Please bear with us while we get this sorted.”
Engineers say that due to the complex nature of the work, additional parts are needed to complete the repair.
Residents in other areas of the town experiencing water issues are being advised that this could be due to frozen pipes, with temperatures reaching -6C last night.
The spokesman added: “Our region is being affected by freezing weather conditions. Please remember, we are not the only ones prone to feeling the cold.
“Pipes inside and outside your home can get very cold too and even freeze, causing your water supply to go off.”
