AN inquest has opened into the tragic death of 18-year-old, Adam Alja, who died after being hit by a train on the railway line to Warrington.
The inquest was opened yesterday, Wednesday, at Warrington Coroner’s Court and will take place next year on May 3.
The devastating incident occurred on the evening of Tuesday, November 22 when Adam didn’t return to his home address in Widnes.
British Transport Police were called to Widnes railway line just before 6.30pm after reports of the tragedy.
A spokesperson for the Police said at the time: “We were called to the railway line in Widnes just before 6.30pm following reports of a casualty on the tracks.
“Paramedics also attended, but the person, an 18-year-old man, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.”
It was confirmed at the time that the incident is not being treated as suspicious.
