A MUCH-loved dog is looking for its forever home after spending a whole year at a dogs’ home.
Cheshire Dogs’ Home, based on Knutsford Road near Grappenhall, is looking for a very special home for its current longest stayer
Ex-racing greyhound Boss has sadly been residing at the home for a year.
The three-year-old is described as a ‘lovely boy who needs a loving home with owners who can reassure him that the world outside dog racing is not such a scary place to be’.
Because of his nervous temperament, Boss needs an adult-only home where his new human or humans can spend time gently bringing him out of his shell, as well as working on his socialization.
Due to his previous race training Boss has a high prey drive which means he cannot be re-homed with cats or other smaller animals.
He is good on the lead and is trained to wear a muzzle on walks, which it is strongly advised should be continued. A secure garden would also be ideal, as would two to three short walks a day.
Staff at Cheshire Dogs’ Home have even put together a TikTok video showcasing Boss, as they are so keen for him to find the right home after his long spell at the shelter.
Anyone interested in meeting Boss at Cheshire Dogs’ Home, operates an appointments-only policy, with a view to adoption should call 0300 102 1212 or visit dogshome.net
