A MOTORIST is set to appear in court following a four-car crash in Latchford last night, Wednesday.
It is reported that a car driving along Thelwall Lane collided with three parked cars as temperatures dropped to freezing.
A 74-year-old man passed a drink-drive test when officers arrived, however he was reported for driving without due care and attention.
It is alleged that he got behind the wheel without defrosting his windscreen.
A spokesman for Cheshire Police said: “At 7.04pm on Wednesday, December 7, police were called to reports of a collision on Thelwall Lane, Warrington.
“Officers attended and found that a red Fiat Punto had collided with three parked cars - a black BMW, A black Ford Fiesta and a red Kia Sportage.
“The driver of the Fiat, a 74-year-old local man, passed a drink-drive test, however he was reported for driving without due care and attention after failing to defrost his window screen.”
The force’s Warrington Police team this morning added: “Officers from B-block have been out to de-ice the police cars ready for the day shift.
“Do not be like one male who last night drove without defrosting his windscreen and crashed into three cars on Thelwall Lane. He has been summoned to court and is lucky no one was injured.
“Give yourself more time before you leave in the morning and adapt your driving to the conditions.”
