POLICE have issued a warning to people who are supplying vape devices to youths.
It comes after two minors were stopped by police in Lymm, with officers confiscating a cannabis grinder and a number of vapes.
Cheshire Police says it is a criminal offence to sell vape devices to anyone under the age of 18.
Officers were in the area to act on concerns from residents, and they say they will contact the youths’ parents.
The force’s Lymm Police team said: “Due to concerns brought to our attention and feedback gathered from our Residents Voice survey, PC Rowley and PCSO Dennis have been on foot patrol near to Longbutt Lane and White Clover Square.
“Two youths were detained and searched, and multiple vaping devices were seized. A cannabis grinder was also confiscated.
“A reminder that it is a criminal offence to sell vape devices to under 18s.
“Vaping and e-cigarettes come under the same law as smoking. It is illegal to be in possession of Vaping devices under the age of 18 and police will confiscate them.
“The parents of the youths involved will be notified in due course.”
