A MAN has been charged with drug possession offences after being found by police hiding under a bed.
He was arrested by officers on patrol in the Fairfield and Howley areas on Tuesday after they spotted two ‘suspicious men’.
The men ran away and attempted to hide from officers, who later found one of the suspects exiting an address. He was searched and sent on his way.
Cheshire Police says a second suspect attempted to hide from officers in the address, but he was found under a bed upstairs.
The man and his vehicle were searched, and he was later arrested on suspicion of possessing amphetamine and cannabis, as well as on suspicion of breaching a non-molestation order.
The force confirmed that he has since been charged and remanded in custody.
A spokesman said: “Police in Warrington are intent on making Cheshire a hostile place for criminals.
“Violence against women and girls is a force priority, and this is an example of the work officers do to make Cheshire a safe place to live.”
