A WARRINGTON family-run farm has been announced as one of the best farm retailers in the UK.
The Farm Retail Association announced its finalists today – and Kenyon Hall Farm, based on Winwick Lane in Croft, made the cut.
Kenyon Hall Farm, best known for strawberry picking and pumpkin picking, has been named as a finalist in the Pick Your Own Farm (PYO) of the Year category which is sponsored by Digitickets.
The PYO was shortlisted in July as judging took place in the height of the PYO season.
The Croft business is joined by farms in Hertfordshire, Oxford, Staffordshire and Edinburgh.
Businesses from all corners of the country have been shortlisted across eight categories which include the Rising Star Award, Farm Shop Butchery of the Year Award, Large Farm Shop of the Year, Small Farm Shop of the Year, Farmers’ Market of the Year, Farm Café/Restaurant of the Year, and Associate Member of the Year.
Chairman of the Farm Retail Association, Rupert Evans said: “After one of the most challenging years that we have ever faced, it brings me great pleasure to announce some of the very best retailers in our industry.
“Our industry has faced soaring costs – not least within the food chain and the energy prices.
“This year, of all years, we need some good news and time for celebration so for everyone shortlisted, we salute you for your hard work, resilience, and service to communities.
“You are all winners.
“Good luck to all our finalists, we look forward to an exciting ceremony in March!”
The awards (sponsored by specialist retailer COOK) will take place on March 7 as part of the FRA’s annual Stronger Together event, 2023.
