A BUSINESS based in Penketh is celebrating a record-breaking year following a successful rebrand.
BGEN is a multi-disciplined engineering solutions firm, based on Chapel Road.
The firm is delighted with its new image, having beaten its own turnover record by bringing in nearly £200million in the last year.
Turnover for the company increased by more than 50 per cent in the last financial year, and the firm could not be happier.
As a result, the business is looking to expand and increase its workforce by 300, taking the total number of employees up to 1,300.
It also means that the firm can focus on homing in on its ambitious net-zero business targets.
One of the reasons for the firm's success is that it secured a number of 'blue chip' contracts, in sectors such as health, food, pharmaceuticals, and heavy industry.
Included in these sectors are the two contracts awarded to the company by National Grid.
The company also expanded its sustainability and net-zero service offering and strengthened its technology division through the acquisition of Radway Control Systems.
John Sugden, executive chair at BGEN, said: "The next 12 months will remain a challenge in terms of the economic climate and industry-wide talent shortage, we’re confident we’ll deliver against our planned people, performance and planet objectives.
"We have a strong order book for the year ahead and a great senior management team in place."
Robin Whitehead, CEO of BGEN, added: "First and foremost, I’d like to thank all employees and clients in helping us to achieve a record year.
"We’re making good progress against our mission to be recognised as an independent market leader in the provision of world-class, multi-disciplinary engineering solutions for UK and international organisations.”
