A 66-YEAR-OLD man was "assaulted" multiple times while travelling on the bus and after he got off, police have reported.
At around 3.25pm on Wednesday, October 19, it has been reported that the man was assaulted "several times to the face" while travelling on the Number 10 bus from Wigan to Leigh.
After the man got off the bus, he is also reported to have been assaulted outside the Bargain Booze shop on Church Lane, Lowton.
Police are now appealing for information on this incident and wish to speak to a man who they believe may be able to assist with enquiries.
He is described as approximately 22 years old, slim build, mixed race, curly black hair and wearing a dark-coloured tracksuit.
Enquiries are ongoing and detectives are now in a position to appeal to the public.
Police are appealing for any witnesses who may have been on the bus at the time or who may have witnessed the incident.
