A NUMBER of Warrington Wolves players will be swapping their rugby boots for trainers and harnesses this weekend in aid of charity.
On Friday, The Wire’s academy team will be climbing the equivalent height of Ben Nevis – the UK’s tallest mountain – on the climbing wall at Warrington Youth Zone in raising money for Children’s Adventure Farm Trust (CAFT) Christmas appeal.
The following day, the same feat will be attempted by players from the women’s, scholarship and PDRL teams in aid of the Reverse Rett charity.
The club are forging close links with the new Warrington Youth Zone, with first-team players visiting the facility on Dallam Lane last month.
Earlier this year, the academy side donned their hiking boots to climb Snowdon in aid of Reverse Rett and the Warrington Wolves Charitable Foundation, raising more than £1,000 for each charity.
