THE owners of a new restaurant in Newton-le-Willows have shared a first look of the new premises.
Chris Jackson and Claire Maguire, owners of Shakey J’s milkshake bar on Newton High Street, have recently taken over another business on the street and are converting it into a family friendly restaurant.
The former Chouxchouxbedoo café premises, which closed in October, has had a complete makeover and is aimed to open by Christmas.
The restaurant owners couldn’t wait to show the community the new site and decided to open its doors for locals to view yesterday during the high street’s Christmas Markets.
Discussing residents’ reaction to the transformation, Chris said: "We had people come in already asking for breakfast.
"The town has welcomed this more than we ever envisaged so we’re excited to open."
The new restaurant will see Chouxchouxbedoo classics such as breakfasts and coffees, as well as a menu filled with Shakey J’s signature treats and mouth-watering dishes.
A games area will also be set up in the back with arcade games for youngsters to enjoy.
Discussing the inspiration for the restaurant, 35-year-old Chris added: "I’ve always liked the idea of somewhere a bit bigger, but we’ve got it down to a T what we’re doing now and we’re doing well, so we’ve come to that point where we’re ready for it.

"We’re really excited. Having been here six years, we’ve seen the kids grow up around here and their families, but when we deliver to those people it’s only a 10 second exchange, so now it will be nice to see people come in and enjoy the food.
"It will make the whole experience of going out for a meal with young kids a lot more enjoyable for the kids."
