THE details have been revealed for a service to remember a much-loved Warrington character.
Peter McLean, who was known by many, sadly died last month.
He was living in supported accommodation in the town centre at the time.
The 51-year-old was a familiar face in the town and could often be spotted outside the Holy Trinity Church at Market Gate.
Warrington Guardian readers paid their tributes to Peter following news of his passing, with many saying that he was a Warrington legend who 'left a wonderful impression on so many’.
His service will be held on Friday, December 9, at Holy Trinity Church at 2pm, with all welcome to attend.
Peter had been homeless since he was 16 and had previously spoken about the importance of the charity YMCA Warrington – which sadly closed in 2017.
In 2014, he told the Warrington Guardian: "All I want now is for the YMCA to stay open and people helping it rather than trying to shut it down.
"If everyone that had been helped by the YMCA donated a fiver it would keep it going."
