Tributes to Peter McLean
A much-loved Warrington town centre sadly died in November.
Peter McLean was a familiar face in the town centre and could often be spotted outside the Holy Trinity Church at Market Gate.
He has been described as a ‘true gentlemen’ and will be missed by Warrington residents.
29 years since the tragic death of Tim Parry and Johnathan Ball
March 20, 2021, marked 29 years since Warrington was hit by an IRA bomb on Bridge Street.
We remember victims Tim Parry and Johnathan Ball and everyone affected by the awful events of that Saturday.
Remembering Viola Beach
On February 13, it was six years since Viola Beach were taken away from us.
Warrington remembers Kris, River, Tom, Jack and Craig.
Celebrating the kind actions of a youngster
This post celebrated the kind actions of a youngster just down the road in Golborne.
The young boy was spotted asking an older gentleman if he was okay before carrying his things and holding his arm as he walked home.
Plenty of people took to Instagram to praise the boy.
Tributes to a loving young woman
Hundreds of people paid tribute to Georgia Goodier who sadly passed away in October 2021 from stage four adenocarcinoma.
The family of the loving young woman who died just months after being told she had cancer said she fought the devastating disease bravely.
“She really did put up a fight. She was so brave, she was always smiling,” her mum said.
Happy 103rd birthday to Joe Donahue
On January 29, we wished Joe Donahue a happy 103rd birthday.
The D-Day veteran celebrated his special day with friends and family at Ryfields Retirement Village in Orford.
We visited him to wish him many happy returns.

This collection of beautiful scenic shots was popular.
You can never have too many sunrise and sunset pictures – especially on a frosty morning.

Another scenic shot of Warrington’s landscape
This amazing photograph was sent in by Camera Club member Zoltán Romvári.
The iconic cooling towers – which are set to be demolished – can be seen in the background.
“Good grief, that is a fabulous photo!” said one follower, and we agree.
A hint of nostalgia
We travelled back to the 1960s for this brilliant picture of the town centre.
It depicts Market Gate looking down Buttermarket Street with the former Burton's shop taking centre stage.
This is when traffic could still drive through the centre of town.
Remembering Stan the Man
It is almost five years since Stan the Man sadly died.
But for many in town, night out (especially in Mr Smith's) was not complete until you had seen Stan on the dance floor.
He was a true Warrington legend.
