A Penketh homeowner has called for residents to 'watch out' after a group of men attempted to enter his home ton Friday.
Paul McWhirter posted on a local Facebook community group saying “Just had six lads in my garden trying to get in the house chased after them but they ran down Chapel Road watch out everyone.”
A spokesman for Cheshire Police said: “At 10.40am on Saturday, police were called to reports of suspicious activity on Chapel Road, Penketh.
"The caller reported that at 7.20pm on Friday 2 December an unknown man, wearing a balaclava, approached their home and attempted to open their front door.
"The caller opened his door, and the suspect ran off down the road with five other people.”
The Facebook post by Paul has led to a series of accusations of similar activity in the area from a group of six men causing trouble in Penketh.
Robert Wilton commented that “A few weeks ago on a Friday evening [the six men] were outside the Tesco Express and were taking it in turns going in and robbing soft drinks.
"The supervisor had them all on camera and she called the police. One of them really stands out from the rest. All of them had bikes.
"Surely the police must have a good idea who the six of them are.”
