A PERSON was freed from their car by firefighters following a crash which closed a busy road in the early hours of this morning, Monday.
Two fire engines from Warrington and Runcorn fire stations rushed to Daresbury shortly before 6am following reports of a crash on the A558 Daresbury Expressway.
Police closed the eastbound carriageway while emergency services were in attendance.
Two cars were involved in the crash, leaving a casualty medically trapped in one of the vehicles.
Firefighters extricated the trapped casualty and handed them into the care of the ambulance service. No one is believed to have been seriously injured.
A spokesman for Cheshire Police said: “At 5.51am on Monday, December 5, police were called to reports of a collision on the A558 Daresbury Expressway eastbound.
“Officers attended and found the collision involved two cars, a black Ford Focus and a red Skoda Fabia.
“There are no reports of any serious injuries, but the road was closed while recovery took place.”
