WARRINGTON and Halton Teaching Hospitals have warned that their phone lines are set to be disrupted this week.
The hospitals have announced that the main switchboard will be affected because of planned upgrade works to the phone system.
This will affect both Warrington and Halton hospitals.
Warrington Hospital's switchboard will be impacted between 9-11am on Wednesday, December 7.
Halton Hospital's switchboard will be disrupted between 7-9am on Wednesday, December 7.
Individual departments' phones will still be fully operational during these times, but the main switchboard will not be.
The teaching trust advises that if you cannot get through to Halton Hospital's switchboard, you can try and get through to Warrington's.
Those trying to get through to Warrington Hospital and failing are advised to try and get through to Halton's, as the downtime is 'only minimal.'
The downtime has been planned so that it does not affect both switchboards simultaneously, meaning that both hospitals will still be able to be contacted at some point.
Warrington and Halton Teaching Hospitals said: "We advise people contacting Halton Hospital between 7-9am to use the Warrington Hospital Switchboard 01925 635911 if they are not connected.
"Between 9-11am the Warrington Hospital Switchboard will experience downtime as it is upgraded, therefore we advise the public if they do not know the extension number of the individual/department you require, to call the Halton Hospital Switchboard 01928 714567."
Warrington and Halton Teaching Hospitals Trust has a list of department contacts available on their website.
The planned downtime will affect Halton Hospital 7-9am on Wednesday, December 7, and Warrington Hospital 9-11am the same day.
