BOTH of our Northern Premier League football clubs have their diehard fans that would not dream of patronising the other, but casual supporters just after a game to watch often have a choice to make.

Warrington Town and Warrington Rylands are frequently at home on the same day at the same time, meaning it is usually a case of one or the other.

Today, though, there is an opportunity to take in both clubs’ fixtures in one day.

Both sides have home fixtures in the NPL Premier Division – Town host Stalybridge Celtic while Rylands welcome Nantwich Town to Gorsey Lane – as they push for the higher placings in the table.

In order to avoid a potential clash with England’s World Cup last-16 tie, however, Rylands agreed to bring the kick-off time of their game forward.

England topped Group B and will face Senegal in the next round on Sunday evening, but the earlier kick off time still stands.

That means Rylands vs Nantwich will start at 1pm, with Town vs Stalybridge getting underway at the usual time of 3pm.

So it begs the question – could you get both games in?

A quick check on Google Maps shows a 2.6-mile drive from Gorsey Lane to Cantilever Park through Bruche and Latchford, with an alternative route through the centre of town.

With a quick getaway and kind traffic, the drive should take around 10 minutes – fingers crossed we don’t have World Cup levels of injury time!

Tickets for Rylands vs Nantwich can be bought at the turnstile at a price of £10 for adults, £7 for concessions and £2 for under 16s.

Warrington Town home tickets can be bought in advance online via the club’s website – warringtontownfc.co.uk – and are priced at £10 for adults, £6 for concessions and £2 for under 16s.

There is a price increase for turnstile admission - £12 adults, £8 concessions and £3 under 16s.
