IT'S December, which can only mean one thing: Christmas is well and truly on its way to Warrington.
Many streets have seen themselves become illuminated by neighbours' annual lights displays, ushering in the festive season.
This has all sparked the yearly debate: "Is it too early to put up the Christmas lights?"
Well, lots of residents see December 1 as the green light to switch on their displays, as seen in the images below.
Here are just a few of the decorations already up in Warrington this year.
Alder Crescent
This Orford cul-de-sac had a Christmas switch-on event on Thursday, December 1, featuring music, hot drinks, and even an appearance by the Grinch.
Residents were out in force, making sure that the event was fully supported by the community.
A donation station was on the street, too.
Carl and Rachel Wood - 40 and 37 - live on the street and helped organise this year's display.
They said: "We first started to do the display during lockdown to try and bring a little bit of Christmas spirit to the Crescent when we couldn’t celebrate with each other.
"It's taken the whole of November, and many late nights."
The light display in the Crescent is being used to raise funds for the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
Pichael Nook
Craig Middlemore has been putting up extensive Christmas displays for a number of years in Latchford.
This display is also being used to raise money for charity, with St Rocco's Hospice set to receive any donations made to Craig's display.
He said that his son, Oakley, is the reason he goes the extra mile with his displays - despite the rising cost of energy, the joy the lights bring to his son is worth it, Craig says.
Broadbent Avenue
Thanks to Rob Jones for sending in this footage of his house in Latchford - you certainly won't be able to miss it if you drive past.
Featuring an appearance by real snow dogs, the Broadbent Avenue display has made sure the street is fully prepared for the big day.
Gaskell Avenue
This house in Latchford has well and truly been trimmed up for Christmas.
The display has been created by Charlie and Rebecca Cooke - Charlie said: "Each year we spread Christmas cheer by decorating our house with Christmas lights.
"I've chosen to fundraise for the Multiple Sclerosis Trust because my dad was diagnosed with MS last year.
"The MS Trust raise funds to provide information and support people with MS and their families.
"They also train and educate MS health professionals to offer the best care and fund MS nurses."
