A GANG of brazen burglars stole expensive jewellery from a home while the occupants were inside having dinner.
Sometime between 5.30pm and 6.30pm on Friday, November 18, three unknown offenders entered the garden of an address on Firs Lane in Appleton.
Two of the men waited outside, while the third man climbed the drainpipe and entered the property through the upstairs window – all while the family ate dinner downstairs.
Once inside, a search was made and a quantity of high-value jewellery was taken. It is believed that the offenders may have then fled the scene in a vehicle.
Enquiries in relation to the incident are ongoing, and police are appealing for anyone with any information or video footage to come forward.
DC Rob Catterall said: “Burglary is a particularly distressing crime where victims are targeted in their own home, a place where they should feel most safe.
“I would like to reassure residents that we are doing all we can to establish the identities of these criminals and bring them to justice.
“A number of enquiries are underway to find those responsible for this incident, and as part of my investigation I would like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed anything suspicious in the area at the time of the incident.
“The same goes for anyone who may have CCTV footage or dashcam footage from around the Firs Lane, Field Lane and Windmill Lane areas of Appleton around the time of the incident.”
