POLICE say they are investigating a suspicious incident which took place in Orford.
Two teenage girls, both aged 14, are said to have been followed by a stranger in a white van while walking along Grasmere Avenue.
The disturbing incident occurred at around 3.15pm on Wednesday, November 23, however it was reported to police yesterday, Wednesday.
In an email to parents, a school in the area said it was ‘shocked and concerned’.
It said: “Please remain vigilant and remind your children of steps to take to keep safe, particularly if out and about on dark evenings or during dark mornings.”
A spokesman for Cheshire Police said: “At 3.15pm on Wednesday, November 30, police were made aware of a suspicious incident on Grasmere Avenue, Warrington.
“The caller reported that two 14-year-old girls had been followed by an unknown man.
“The incident is reported to have taken place on Wednesday, November 23.”
The force says that enquires in relation to the incident are in the early stages.
