A REAL ale festival is returning to Penketh this weekend.
The Ferry Tavern is once again hosting its beer festival, which promises to have more than 20 beers in stock.
Incidentally, the Ferry Tavern was recently named the 'cosiest' pub in Warrington, so the popular drinking spot is sure to be a busy sight this weekend.

The pub began promoting the event in the middle of November, with hype building solidly since then.
These beer festivals always go down a treat at the Ferry Tavern, with a stream of guests pouring in throughout the weekend.
This is the Ferry Tavern's final beer festival of the year, and entry to the festival is completely free.
Taking place on Friday and Saturday, December 2 and 3, the festival lasts for 12 hours on both days, from midday until midnight.
When announcing the event, the beloved boozer said: "We are busy curating 20 of the finest cask ales, all of which will be hand-pulled by our fantastic team.
"With a great selection to choose from, you might be spoilt for choice."
As is traditional with beer festivals, the selection will also be offered in third-pints, allowing guests the chance to try as many of the craft ales as possible.
The Ferry Tavern also said that their usual drinks selection will remain on offer, as will their regular weekend drinks promotions, too.
A much-loved pub by many, The Ferry Tavern has stood on licenced premises since the late 18th century, with records dating back to 1762 - making it one of Warrington's oldest and longest-serving pubs.
The pub is also celebrating its 27th year of being included in the 'Good Beer Guide' in 2023, having first been named in the guide in 1996.
Amongst other events, the pub regularly hosts a 'speedquizzing,' pizza night, and live music slots, too.
The beer festival promises a selection of pale, amber, dark, and even copper ales to choose from.
The Ferry Tavern's final beer festival of 2022 takes place on Friday and Saturday, December 2 and 3, between midday and midnight.
You can find the Ferry Tavern on Station Road, Penketh - for more information, visit the pub's website and social media pages.
