MORE than £25,000 has been raised in 2022 by the Royal British Legion in Culcheth during this year's Poppy Appeal.
The mammoth effort was undertaken in Culcheth during the British Legion's official Poppy Appeal, which launched on Thursday, October 27.
Culcheth's branch of the British Legion announced its grand fundraising total on Friday, November 27.

A total of £25,142.93 was raised during this period - the equivalent of over £800 per day.
Throughout the official Poppy Appeal, the Culcheth group sent out more than 200 poppy collection boxes across Warrington, including in three shopping centres in the town.
Along with the 19th Culcheth Scouts, Cubs, and Beavers, the Culcheth British Legion was able to fundraise throughout November, with help from over 50 volunteers.
The 70th Croft and Culcheth Squadron Air Training Corps also lent their assistance to this year's appeal, alongside teams from Culcheth Eagles rugby league club.
Throughout November, 19 schools in Warrington were supplied with poppy packs and training aids, too.
This year's Poppy Appeal in Culcheth covered Culcheth, Glazebury, Croft, Lowton, Winwick, Gorse Covert, Cinnamon Brow, Birchwood, Oakwood, and Locking Stumps.
Royal British Legion Culcheth Village Club thanked Bent's Garden and Home, HMP Risley, Birchwood Shopping Centre, and Sainsbury's Culcheth for all their assistance throughout the appeal and beyond.
The club's gratitude was also extended to the many schools, clubs, churches, and local businesses that collected for the appeal, too.
Culcheth's collection volunteers were also paid tribute to, with the club saying: "Without you, the Poppy Appeal would not be a success."
In total, 55 individuals were thanked by the Culcheth club, as well as local branches of the Scouts, Cubs, and Beavers.
Culcheth Eagles' under-sevens, under-nines, under-11s, and under-14s were also singled out as champions of the Poppy Appeal in 2022, the club added: "Thank you everyone, you have done a brilliant job.
"And a huge thank you to everyone that has donated this year."
