A STAR WARS loving couple have held an out-of-this-world wedding reception at a town centre café and events hub.
John Brownbill, 38, and Catherine Brownbill, 41, from Bewsey, were married last week on November 23.
They then held their reception at Geek Retreat, the popular hub for “geeks” and gaming enthusiasts in the town.
Joined by two friends who had acted as witnesses, Kevin Cottam and Sarah Jones-Cottam, the pair attended the reception in Jedi robes, and the witnesses were dressed as Batman and a Klingon from Star Trek respectively.
When I spoke to John, he spoke of how he loves Geek Retreat and goes down whenever he can.
He also said the reception came about because he “wanted to do something nice for Doug”, who runs the café and events hub.
The two held an intimate event in Geek Retreat, with the pair each singing a song.
John sang “If I Were a Rich Man” from Fiddler on the Roof, while Catherine sang “Writing’s on the Wall”.
They met in January 2019, having encountered each other during a tour of Warrington Hospital, and John proposed in March of last year.
