A MAN has died after suffering a suspected medical episode behind the wheel.
An air ambulance was dispatched to Ravenfield Drive in Widnes at around 3.45pm yesterday afternoon, Thursday.
This came after emergency services received reports of a road incident.
Police, paramedics and two fire engines from Widnes and Penketh fire stations attended the scene, which saw a car leave the road.
The casualty, a man in his 50s, was treated at the scene and taken to hospital, but sadly he was pronounced dead.
A spokesman for Cheshire Police said: “At 3.43pm on Thursday, November 24, police were called to a collapsed man in a car in Ravenfield Drive, Widnes.
“The slow-moving car had left the road and came to a stop against a fence.
“The driver, a man in his 50s, was treated at the scene and taken to hospital, but sadly died.”
