RHIANNON Dixon is to fight on the undercard of Josh Warrington’s IBF World Featherweight title defence in Leeds next month.
For the Great Sankey boxer, who is trained by Anthony Crolla, her appearance at the First Direct Arena on December 10 will be the second bout under her new manager, STN Sports’ Paul Ready.
The 27-year-old pharmacist, a former student at St Gregory's High School, defeated Hungary's former world super featherweight title contender Edina Kiss over six rounds in Nottingham two months ago.
That success, secured 60-54 on the referee’s card, took her professional record to six wins from six outings.
Meanwhile, Warrington Wolves’ former player and now assistant academy coach as well as lead scholarship coach, Tyrone McCarthy, is having a final bash to mark the end of his Testimonial campaign.
McCarthy, who also had spells with Hull KR, Salford, Leigh and Australian teams Northern Pride and St George Illawarra, will be hosting ‘The Afterparty’ at the Parr’s Bank in Warrington on Friday, December 2.
The event will include food, live entertainment and prizes, with tickets priced £40 available from tyronemccarthy2022@outlook.com or 07377 935504.
