A MISCHIEVOUS puppy needed to be rescued by firefighters after he became trapped underneath a patch of wooden decking.
The adventurous mutt, called Rupert, was found wedged underneath the garden furniture at a property in Penketh.
Crews from Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service managed to rescue the cute canine before wrapping him in blankets.
Adorable photos taken at the scene show Rupert peeking through a gap in the decking and posing with the crews who rescued him.
After Rupert was reunited with his loving family on Tuesday, he was taken to a local vet for a final check-up.
A spokesman for the service said: “This adventurous little pup, called Rupert, was exploring and got himself stuck under some decking.
“Firefighters were able to release the curious canine and reunite Rupert happily with his family, before he was taken to the vets for a check-up.”
