Wholesome Junkies at Warrington Market forced to close

Wholesome Junkies, which opened in the town at the end of last year, announced it’s closure ‘with the heaviest heart’ this afternoon, Wednesday.

Owners said that a number of factors have made it ‘financially crippling’ for the business to survive.

These include food prices rocketing as well as increasing, wages, fuel and electricity costs.

 An Instagram post by the eatery reads: “Well as most of you know, vegan businesses and I guess most small independent businesses have been struggling to keep going with the current climate.

“Food prices have rocketed, fuel, wages, electricity, etc, etc.

“The whole nation has struggled with this both personally and in business.

“This is something we have and are currently battling with.

“With all these factors making it financially crippling for us as a business to survive, we have made the decision to close Warrington with immediate effect.”

The team at Wholesome Junkies shared their love and gratitude to those who have supported them during their time in Warrington.

“We’ve had a blast at Warrington Market and hope to be back in the future,” the post continues.

The Manchester branch will still remain open – and customers can still support the independent business who will continue to give their ‘absolute all’.

The post also reads: “You guys can help in so many ways that isn’t even financially.

“Leaving a positive review about your visit with us, sharing your lovely images on social media channels and recommending us to friends and family make such a huge impact and we can not appreciate it enough.”
