PLANS to give a Warrington hotel a fresh new look have been given the go-ahead.

The proposals relate to a raft of new signage at The Park Royal hotel in Stretton.

Applicant The QHotels Collection had applied to Warrington Borough Council’s planning department for the green light for a mix of illuminated and non-illuminated signage.

These signs will now replace the current versions after the application was approved.

Planning officers stated that the plans will have no impact on heritage assets and are appropriate for the green belt, with no greater impact than existing signs.

It comes after the four-star hotel and spa unveiled plans in January for a gym upgrade as part of a multi-million-pound investment.

It was said that the upgraded health club would boast a state-of-the-art gym, complete with top of the range fitness equipment, all fully connected to offer the latest in technology and immersive workout experience.

Keith Pickard, golf, leisure and spa director at The QHotels Collection, said: “It has always been our desire to offer the best gyms, fitness and leisure activities in the country.

“Now, after 18 months of planning and looking for the perfect partner, that vision is real. This will also be our biggest investment in over two decades and the best you can get.”
