FORECASTERS say residents should expect heavy rain and strong, gusty winds tomorrow, Thursday.
It comes as the Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning in Cheshire, Wirral and further south.
The warning will come into effect from 10am tomorrow morning, and it will remain in force through to 7pm that evening.
The warning states that spray and flooding on roads will probably making journey times longer, with delays to road, rail, air and ferry transport likely.
Delays for high-sided vehicles on exposed routes and bridges are also likely, while the flooding of some homes and businesses remains a possibility.
A Met Office spokesman said: “A narrow band of rain, heavy at times and perhaps briefly intense, will move eastwards late on Thursday morning and into the afternoon, clearing Kent during the evening.
“Around 10 to 15mm is likely to fall in a one-to-two-hour period, with around 20mm in a few places.
“With saturated ground, this is likely to lead to a fair amount of surface water on roads and flooding in one or two places.
“Strong winds will be an additional hazard, with gusts of 40 to 50mph inland, and perhaps briefly 60 to 70mph along some exposed coasts.”
