DO you remember this former Warrington pub?
The Railway Hotel stood on the corner of Milner Street and Priestley Street until its demolition in the mid 1980s.
Milner Street had been dominated by the Whitecross wire works which ran along both sides with a short terrace of houses at the Liverpool Road end.
Founded by Frederick Monks, the works closed in 1980 and were demolished in 1986. The road eventually became home to the post office and B&Q.
Its full, fascinating story is told in a new book by Harry Wells.
Market Gate to Sankey Bridges tells the history of some of Warrington's most famous buildings on an imaginary walk of the area.
