A PERSON was taken to hospital by ambulance following a crash on the M56 yesterday evening, Tuesday.
Three fire engines from Runcorn and Lymm fire stations rushed to the motorway carriageway at 6.33pm.
This came after reports of a one-vehicle road traffic collision heading eastbound between junctions 10 for Stretton and 11 for Daresbury and Preston Brook.
A casualty was extricated from the vehicle by firefighters using a scoop.
Crews also administered first aid before the released person was taken to hospital by paramedics in an ambulance.
