A WARRINGTON couple are bringing back the Merseyside Guitar show at the Aintree exhibition centre.
With the event having been cancelled in 2020 and 2021 due to Covid, Gail Hoarty and Peter Hoarty are bringing the North West guitar staple back on the 27th of November.
Peter and Gail have lived in Warrington their entire lives, residing in Cinammon Brow for the last 36 years. They have organised guitar shows for 25 years now.
A record attendance is expected following the Covid-enforced two-year hiatus, with the opportunity to buy, sell, and trade guitars as well as live music.
Featured bands include the Huers, a folk duo from The Wirral and Upholland respectively, and Slick Cupid, the winner of Southport’s battle of the bands event.
Also playing will be popular Liverpool singer/songwriter Reid Anderson. Reid is also an actor, having featured in BBC’s War of the Worlds as well as Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.
Gail Hoarty said on the event:
“Our business Northern Guitar Shows was very successful until March 2020 when everything came to a standstill due to the pandemic.
For two years we had to cancel all our ten shows, so we had no work and no income. We didn't know whether we had lost our business for good.
The Merseyside Guitar Show at Aintree Racecourse this Sunday November 27th looks like being a record breaker. All exhibition space is sold out and there is a lot of excitement about the show
It's like one big guitar party, with a really happy atmosphere - just what we all need at this point in time."
Tickets can be bought on the door for £8, with free admission for accompanying under 12s.
