WORK to demolish a former car garage which has stood on a main route into the town for decades has now been completed.
Crews moved onto land at Silver Street in recent weeks to knock down the old Rybrook Jaguar dealership, which has been a familiar sight for many driving on Winwick Road for many a year.
Work appears to have now been finished, with the structure being removed, section by section, until the land was vacant.
Jaguar closed the dealership last July, with customers told they would have to travel to Liverpool to access the next nearest Rybrook branch.
The Volvo garage which shares the Silver Street site will remain open and continues to operate from one of the buildings.
Scaffolding was erected around the Volvo building in September, with the business temporarily moving to the closed Jaguar side while its side was upgraded and extended.
Volvo operations have since moved back to its own building, allowing demolition crews to begin to erase the old Jaguar structure from the street scene.
Plans submitted to Warrington Borough Council by Volvo regarding new signage at the site were approved in August.
Permission was granted in September last year for the actual building to be demolished.
Light-up signs highlighting the Volvo badge and Volvo Selekt used car brand will be installed on the walls of the upgraded building, along with an illuminated pylon sign at the entrance.
Glass signage will be mounted to the building to inform visitors of opening hours, while a totem style sign will detail which areas are designated for customer parking.
In addition, the proposal includes flag poles and smaller signs to designate spaces for disability vehicles.
The Jaguar garage was the second dealership to close on Winwick Road in recent years.
Lookers closed its Vauxhall branch across the road in 2018, and this has since been replaced with a self-storage facility.
