A DRIVER was rescued from a vehicle in the early hours of this morning, Sunday, following a crash on the M56.
Shortly before 5.50am three fire crews – from Warrington, Lymm and Runcorn – were called to the eastbound slip road between junctions nine and 10.
They found a driver trapped in their vehicle.
A spokesperson for Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “A driver was physically trapped in a vehicle following a road traffic collision.
“Firefighters had to remove a tree stump to be able to get to the driver side door to remove that.
“The vehicle was stabilised as this work was going on.
“The driver was able to get out of the vehicle and was assessed by paramedics.”
