POLICE closed a lane on a bridge in Warrington at rush hour due to an incident this afternoon, Friday.
Officers attended Park Boulevard Bridge, crossing the River Mersey between Centre Park and Brian Bevan Island, at around 4.30pm.
This came after police received reports of concern for the safety of a woman on the bridge.
Thankfully, officers were able to lead her to a place of safety.
A spokesman for Cheshire Police said: “At around 4.28pm today, Friday, November 18, police were called to concerns for the safety of a woman on Park Boulevard Bridge, Warrington.
“Officers attended and brought the woman to safety. She is being taken to hospital for further checks.”
