A DRIVER has been banned from the road 'due to repeat offending'.

Rebecca Bedford, of Chapel Lane, Wilmslow, appeared at Chester Magistrates Court on November 16, charged with driving without insurance.

The 33-year-old was caught driving a Mini on January 31, this year, without a valid third party insurance policy.

Bedford was stopped on the westbound carriageway of M62 in Warrington between junctions nine for Winwick and 10 at Birchwood.

The defendant was disqualified from holding or obtaining a driving licence for six months 'due to repeat offending'.

Her driving licence was endorsed with eight points.

Bedford was also fined £1,000 and ordered to pay £110 costs and £100 victim surcharge.

The defendant's guilty plea was taken into consideration when the sentence was imposed.

Magistrates accepted her offer to pay the court penalty of £1,200 at a rate of £300 per month, starting on December 14.
