A CARER'S car was damaged in a shocking overnight attack in Newton-le-Willows last night.
The attack is reported to have happened on Haydock Street, Newton, in the early hours of this morning, Friday.
With significant damage caused to the white Honda Civic, which was left by Dave's Tyres and Home Bargains, the incident has not only impacted the vehicle owner, but those that she cares for.
The car owner, Sally Eaton, is an agency support worker that looks after elderly residents and those with disabilities and mental health problems across St Helens and Warrington.
With the criminal damage having a financial impact on Sally, it also means that those she supports may struggle to have appropriate care until the car is fixed.
Sally, 43, said: "I arrived home from work at 10pm last night and when I went out to go to work today, I found the car smashed up. No other car was damaged, just ours.
"It has meant that I couldn't go to work this morning, so has caused me even more financial hardship.
"I'm a support worker so the people I care for have been impacted too."
Devastated by the damage, the mum-of-three has appealed for anyone to come forward with CCTV footage to help with the police's investigation; while also issuing a warning to car owners in the area.
A Merseyside Police spokesperson added: "We can confirm we received a report of criminal damage caused to a car in Newton-le-Willows.
"At around 8am on Friday 18th November, we received a report that a vehicle parked on Haydock Street had been damaged at some point overnight.
