A CREDIT union has expanded to the Golden Square.
The Mayor of Warrington Cllr Jean Flaherty officially opened the new branch of Unify Credit Union at the shopping centre at the beginning of this month.
Its arrival means that it will now be easier than ever for Warrington residents to join Unify, deposit money into their savings, and apply for loans.
Unify CEO Angela Fishwick said: “We’re delighted to expand our services into Warrington with the opening of our fifth branch.
“With so many banks and post offices withdrawing from communities we want to make sure people can still access the face-to-face support they want when managing their money.
“Come and see us and see what your credit union can do for you.”
The branch, which can be found inside the Warrington Foodbank Information Centre near Primark, will initially operate on Tuesdays and Fridays from 10am to 2pm with a view to extending opening hours if the new service proves popular.
The expansion comes after Warrington Credit Union merged with Unify Credit Union last year.
