A WARRINGTON Wolves first team player has been fined by the courts for speeding through the town.
Greg Minikin was caught breaking the speed limit while driving a black Jaguar XF on April 7 this year.
The offence occurred on the A49 Winwick Road at the junction with Owen Street, with the rugby player being snapped doing more than 30mph by the automatic speed camera.
The 27-year-old outside back, who lives in St Helens, appeared before Warrington Magistrates’ Court this month to face the speeding charge.
Here, he pleaded guilty and was ordered to pay almost £600, broken down into a fine of £436, surcharge to fund victim services of £43 and costs of £120 to the Crown Prosecution Service.
In addition, his driving record was endorsed with four points.
Yorkshireman Minikin joined The Wire ahead of the 2022 season from Hull Kingston Rovers, making six appearances and scoring one try.
He has also played for Castleford Tigers and York City Knights in his career.
