COME for a tour of Walton Hall and Gardens Children’s Zoo with us.
Peter Cookson-Dean, a familiar face for many families across Warrington, celebrated his 40th year of working at the zoo last month.
When starting at the site, there were just 10 old cages with a few animals and birds in them.
As well as building the walkway around the zoo, Peter also got to choose what animals to bring to Walton.
He has since introduced lots of new species - birthing many himself and even hand-rearing BoBo the donkey.
To mark Peter’s 40 dedicated years at the zoo, we asked Peter to give us a tour.
So here is a look around Walton Zoo while Peter tells us everything we need to know about the animals – while feeding them.
