WARRINGTON charities and small businesses have benefited from millions of pounds of investment from Amazon over the years.
Amazon has revealed that since 2010, the company has invested more than £750 million in Cheshire in various forms.
A number of causes in the town have recently received support from the firm – including Warrington Youth Zone and Walton Lea Partnership.
James Pitt, site leader at the Amazon fulfillment centre in Warrington at Omega, said: “We help more than 1,000 small businesses across Cheshire sell on Amazon and reach customers around the world, and we also continue to support community organisations across the region through donations and volunteering.
“Recently, we have donated to a range of good causes including Warrington Youth Zone and Walton Lea Partnership, while working with Magic Breakfast to deliver healthy breakfasts to vulnerable children and schools.”
As well as investing and allowing 1,000 small businesses across Cheshire to sell on Amazon, around 6,000 full and part-time jobs have been created in the region by the firm.
“Amazon is a proud member of the community in Cheshire, investing over £750 million in the region since 2010 to support local businesses, create jobs and make a positive contribution to the regional economy,” added James.
