Warrington’s Christmas toy appeal has returned for the tenth year running to ensure no child is left without a present to unwrap on Christmas Day.

The appeal, ran by Warrington Borough Council’s neighbourhood’s team, are looking for donations such as new books and toys, gift vouchers, toiletries and sweet treats that will make a great gift for any child up to the age of 16yrs.

With the hope to help struggling families by providing their children with a guaranteed Christmas gift on what will already be a difficult time financially for many homes.

A drop-off point is available to deliver any generous donations at Orford Community Hub on Festival Avenue and the deadline for donations will be Friday, December 2.

All families who receive a present from the appeal will also be given the opportunity to be supported by other wellbeing services made available by the council.

Cllr Tony Higgins, cabinet member for leisure and community, said: “Over the last nine years, our communities have supported each other by donating gifts to children of families who are facing financial hardship.

“The current cost of living crisis has only added to the challenges being faced by many people, so this year it would be fantastic if local people could once again donate a present to help ensure every child in Warrington has a gift to open on Christmas Day, giving them a festive season to remember.”
