SIX miles of traffic congestion are being reported on the M6 this morning, Tuesday, near Haydock Island due to disruption caused by a broken down lorry.
A lane was closed on the M6 southbound between Junction 23 for Haydock and Junction 22 for Winwick/Newton due to the broken down lorry.
Recovery was arranged and the vehicle has now been recovered.

National Highways North West said shortly before 7.30am: "All lanes have re-opened on the #M6 southbound in #GreaterManchester between J23 (#HaydockInterchage) and J22 (#Winwick).
