A LARGE emergency service presence attended a Warrington bridge over safety concerns for a person.
Police rushed to Kingsway Bridge, where Kingsway North meets Kingsway South in Howley, at around midday yesterday, Monday.
It was reported that teams were also below the bridge on the River Mersey.
The river crossing was closed during the incident, after which thankfully the person, a teenager, was led to safety.
A spokesman for Cheshire Police said: “At around midday on Monday, November 14, police were called to reports of concerns for the welfare of a person on Kingsway Bridge, Warrington.
“Officers attended and a teenager was found sat on the bridge.
“The road was closed while officers engaged with the teenager, and they came down at around 12.45pm and were taken to a place of safety.”
